Market Days
 | Daventry has had a market almost since time
began but it became
formalised in 1255 when
the market charter was granted which gave
permission for a two day fair to take place on the
feast of St. Augustine and another on the feast of
St. Matthew. | Today the general market can be found in High Street, Tuesdays and Fridays between 9:00am and 3.30pm.
Also,
on the first Saturday of each month Daventry High Street hosts the ever
popular farmers market ...where town really does meet the countryside.
Taste and smell an array of fresh local quality produce ....everything
from pork to poultry and eggs to cheese. Opens 9.30am and closes at
2:00pm so make sure you don’t miss it!
